1. We are currently seeking individuals to fill the role of Police Chief with the Village of Johnstown, Ohio Police Department. The Village’s current Chief retired after serving 24 years as Police Chief and 49 years as an Officer. This position requires leading a department of 14 civilian, sworn and volunteer employees, taking charge of an annual budget of 1 million dollars, and being a leader in the community. The next Johnstown Police Chief will be an active member of the community by becoming involved in various civic organizations as well as participating in department activities such as community patrol, town hall meetings and other innovative ways to connect with businesses and residents. 2. The Johnstown Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of police officer to build an eligibility pool for future openings. Interested candidates must have their OPOTA certificate or be currently enrolled in an academy. Applications can be picked up/dropped off at the department at 599 S. Main St Johnstown, Ohio 43031. Starting pay will be based on experience.
